Ball Screw RCA: Indentations

Damage Condition

• Indentations on the raceway at each ball location similar to the deformation caused by a Brinell Hardness Tester (Brinelling)
• Indentations on a raceway caused by contamination or metal particles

Possible Causes

• High-energy impacts or improper handling of the products at installation or in transit will easily cause this damage
• Caused by contamination or intruded metal particles

Countermeasures

• Adequate installation and handling
• Improve sealing capability
• Filter the lubrication oil
