EPTDA reaches a new milestone in its 15th anniversary year

As EPTDA prepares to celebrate its 15th anniversary next month in Venice, EMEA’s leading community for industrial distribution announces its membership increase to 220 companies

EPTDA (EMEA Power Transmission Distributors Association), announces that its membership across Europe, Middle East & Africa has reached 220 companies. EPTDA is the leading community within industrial distribution as recognised by customers. It brings together distributors, manufacturers and associates in the mechanical power transmission and motion control (PT/MC) industry from across 30 countries.

EPTDA convention 2013 will be held in Venice

The association has grown at a steady pace since its foundation in 1998. In 2013, EPTDA’s 15th anniversary year, 19 new companies have joined the association, the newest additions since June 2013 have been listed below:

“The new additions to our membership signals our focus on growing presence in the emerging markets,” said Hans Hanegreefs, EPTDA’s Executive Vice President. “Today, 20% of EPTDA’s members come from these fast growing emerging economies. Going forward, we will further strengthen our footprints in Eastern & Central Europe, Middle East & Africa.”

Agisys Ltd, Hungary was founded in 1995 to make fluid mixing equipment and to sell power transmission elements for all industrial sectors. The company is licenced to assemble and sell Bonfiglioli standard gearboxes since 2001. They have a unique stock of gearboxes, AC motors, inverters and drive elements in the country. Thanks to an efficient sales organisation for OEM/end user customers Agisys is recognised for best service in Hungary when it comes to expertise, availability, stock and after sales service. Mr. Sipos Karoly, Managing Director, states: “We believe our efforts are accepted by the customers as Agisys Ltd has become the market leader in Hungary in terms of gearboxes and agitators sales.”

Kavial OÜ has been delivering service excellence to Estonia since 1994 (primarily bearing solutions), providing prompt and reliable delivery, technical support and solutions via dedicated product specialists. Kavial has been an international market player already for 19 years. During this period of time, long-run relationships with bearing manufacturers like FAG, SKF, NTN/SNR and other world known brands from bearing supplementing segments (power transmission, sealing, conveying, lubrication) have been established through authorised distribution.

Rulexim S.A., based in Romania, specialises in implementing complete projects for Asset Efficiency Optimization; Energy Efficiency Program; Maintenance Strategies; and Environmental Protection Programme by using an innovative combination of standard and tailored products, services and software.

Boca Bearing Company is one of the most trusted names in ceramic bearing technology. The reduction of rolling resistance and conservation of energy has been its hallmark since 1987. Over the last few years its international business has been growing by leaps and bounds. “We decided to join EPTDA to broaden our global network and to better understand the issues other power transmission companies face”, explains Jay Flanzbaum, Vice President.
Alessandro Concato, General Manager of E.B.I Group S.P.A, commented: “We joined EPTDA to further build on the operational know-how and improve our processes on general management, logistics, products success stories, media relations, and communication with partners in the markets that EPTDA represents. We also want to acquire new skills and apply the best practices of our sector. The recent affiliation of YTM-Industrial OY and its subsidiary Lining Components OY strengthens EPTDA’s representation in the Nordic Countries, where nearly 10% of its member companies are currently based. YTM Industrial Oy was grounded in 1977 and has been part of the international Indutrade Group since 1987. YTM Industrial Oy aims to serve the Finnish industrial sector through the supply of technical components and equipment. Their suppliers and subcontractors include a strategic mix of both international large-scale enterprises representing well-known brands and smaller companies focused on highly specialised niche sectors. Premium Stephan B.V. , Germany’s President, Chris Morrell, took no time to join the EPTDA, when the company launched its new Distributor friendly gearbox range. Chris, who has served as the Chairman of the EPTDA Manufacturer Council, said “EPTDA is a great place to find new partners. As one of the past members and executives of EPTDA, I know the benefits of membership, the opportunity to meet almost all key players of the industry in one place”. Robert Wright, Sales Manager Distribution Premium Stephan, adds, “EPTDA is the most cost effective platform to meet decision makers from all across the world. The association is committed to advancing distribution and set the highest ethical standards, and that’s why we want to take active part in its activities and growth.” Premium Stephan, based in the city of Hameln, Germany, are manufacturers of industrial gearboxes. For 105 year, they have been manufacturing precision gears under various names such as Stephan, Rexnord Stephan, Brook Hansen, Hansen Transmission and now Premium Stephan.
