From Heritage to Independence: Neuweg’s First Anniversary of a New Era of Independence

One year after separating from the NSK Group, Neuweg has relaunched as a fully independent bearing manufacturer. We sat down with Managing Directors Dominik Szell and Willi Castro-Santalla to discuss the company’s vision, values, and ambitions for the future.

A Year of Transformation

“It wasn’t a new start,” begins Dominik, head of all commercial aspects of the business, reflecting on the company’s transition from its former parent. “It was a natural evolution. We inherited decades of expertise, strong customer relationships and proven technology — but independence gives us the agility to innovate faster, respond more flexibly, and put our customers’ needs right at the heart of our business.”

The past twelve months have been spent strengthening operations, investing in new technology, and shaping a fresh identity. Now, the company is ready to reintroduce itself to the market with renewed focus and ambition.

Vision for Growth

When asked about the company’s new direction, Willi, in charge of the business’ operations, is clear: “Our vision is to be more than a supplier of bearings. We want to be a true solutions partner. That means not just delivering products, but helping our customers increase reliability, reduce downtime and lower total cost of ownership.”

With plans to develop its historical presence into new sectors and geographic markets, the company is positioning itself as a forward-looking partner for industries ranging from agricultural machinery and commercial vehicle engine accessories to industrial automation and robotics.

Innovation at the Core

Neuweg is placing innovation at the heart of its strategy. Recent investments in advanced manufacturing technologies and R&D are already bearing fruit.

“Technology will always evolve,” Dominik reflects, “but what really sets us apart is the way we collaborate with customers to tailor solutions. Whether it’s higher loads, extreme environments, or unique machinery, we’re developing bearings designed specifically for their future needs.” “We see ourselves as engineering partners, not just component suppliers,” explains Willi. “That means co-developing bearing designs with our customers to solve complex challenges and help them stay competitive in their industries.”

Commitment to Quality

As a critical component in machinery worldwide, bearings leave no margin for error. Neuweg is keenly aware of this responsibility.

“Reliability is non-negotiable,” says Willi. “We back our products with world-class testing and internationally recognized certifications. Our customers trust us because we deliver consistency and quality every time.”

Neuweg stands out in the bearings industry as a pioneer of the Agri Hub Unit, and it’s premium AHU range comes with a staggering 5-year No Quibble Guarantee  against failures in the field. Dominik explains “we have never experienced a failure of our Agri Hubs, and our customers know that our products protect their brand value”.

Sustainability for the Future

Sustainability is another area where the company is making strides. From energy-efficient production processes to recyclable materials, Neuweg is embedding responsibility into its operations.

“As manufacturers, we have a duty to reduce environmental impact,” notes Willi. “Our customers expect it, and it’s the right thing to do. We’re building bearings that support a sustainable industrial future.”

Powered by People

Despite the focus on technology, Dominik is quick to stress the human element. “Our people are our strength. We’ve invested heavily in training and apprenticeships to develop the next generation of engineers. A culture of innovation, precision, and customer-first thinking runs throughout the company.”

Willi continues “we are so proud that our people have risen to the challenges and possibilities of independence. All great companies are built on the collective passion, skills and dedication of their people … and Neuweg is no exception.”

Eyes on the Future

Looking ahead, Neuweg is confident in its new path. Expansion, innovation, and partnerships are on the horizon. But for Dominik, it comes back to one central theme: trust.

“We’re proud of where we’ve come from, but our focus is firmly on the future. Customers can rely on us to be agile, reliable and forward-thinking. We’re building a company that doesn’t just supply bearings — we help industries move forward.”
