Timken Xiangtan was founded in conjunction with the Chinese engineering company Xiangtan Electric Manufacturing Co. (XEMC) in 2008. It mainly manufactures large size bearings for wind power industry, which can also meet the needs of heavy industries such as metallurgy and mining. Since the announcement of the expansion in December 2020, the total investment in this project will exceed RMB 300 million. The Xiangtan facility is one of eight Timken manufacturing sites in China and its development is of great importance to the company. Through the expansion, Timken will transform the Xiangtan manufacturing base into its leading manufacturing base in both China and the world. As an important hub for Timken’s service network in the United States, Europe and Asia, the facility will also serve customers in the renewable energy industry around the world.
